ODI World Cup 2023: There are only two days left till the start of the ICC World Cup 2023, which will begin on October 5. At Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the opening match will feature England vs New Zealand, the reigning champions. India will face Australia in Chennai on October 8 in the first game of the tournament.
Fans are swarming to the stadium to witness the warm-up games as tournament excitement reaches all-time highs. The ICC World Cup 2023’s official song, which was written by Bollywood music composer Pritam and included Ranveer Singh, a superstar in his own right, was also well-liked.
All 10 of the competing teams also presented their updated uniforms for the ICC World Cup 2023, adding to the overall celebration of cricket. Every single one of them received positive feedback from their followers and gained a tonne of social media attention.

Netherlands- 5/10:
Nobody was surprised that the Netherlands kept their ODI World Cup 2023 jersey’s Orange theme. In addition to its solid orange hue, the jersey has two solid orange stripes, two solid blue stripes, and the Dutch flag on the sleeves. A design with a hint of ivory is also visible upon closer inspection. The KNCB logo is printed on the left, and the World Cup logo is printed on the right.
Afghanistan- 6/10:
The ICC World Cup will be Afghanistan’s third consecutive appearance. They are sporting a jersey with the classic hues of blue, green, and red. But what draws attention are the strange designs in the front. It conveys the feeling of being really festive.
Bangladesh- 6/10:
Bangladesh’s CWC 2023 shirt likewise features a significant amount of green. The players, including Shakib Al Hasan, revealed it by pulling it from a box at its unveiling. The sides and collars of the jersey include a pop of red. Bangladesh would want to advance over their greatest World Cup performance from 2015, which was a quarterfinal appearance.
Sri Lanka- 5/10:
Prior to the ODI World Cup in 2023, Sri Lanka was the only team without an official jersey debut. Instead, during the warm-up games, they wore their new looks. The uniform is quite reminiscent of what they wore during the Asia Cup 2023. It is mostly dark blue in hue with hints of light blue patterns and has engravings of a lion on the front and on the side.
South Africa- 6/10:
Since being reinstated onto the international cricket scene in 1992, South Africa will be attempting to reach their first World Cup final. Their new jersey has an unadorned front that is a plain shade of green. However, the national flag that is printed across both shoulders has been given a creative touch. They now have a red and blue pattern on the left shoulder and a yellow and black pattern on the right.
New Zealand- 7/10:
The white-ball uniforms worn by New Zealand have always been extremely artistic. The New Zealand jersey is entirely black, keeping with their nickname of “Black Caps.” It has a pattern with straight lines beneath the underline of New Zealand’s name that recalls the 1996 World Cup for fans.
Pakistan- 7/10:
The 2023 ICC World Cup’s first side to reveal its uniform was Pakistan. Their gear is primarily dark green in tone. The one large star that fills the entire front portion of the kit, however, is the kit’s main feature. ‘Star Nation Jersey’ is a concept that is present in the kit, according to PCB. It represents the close bond between Pakistan’s devoted cricket supporters and their sporting idols. The shade of the jersey and the decision to use a straightforward star design make it stand out.
England- 8/10:
England switched from wearing a light-coloured jersey at the 2019 World Cup to a slightly teal-coloured kit at the 2023 World Cup. Apart from those two hues, the front has a few flimsy light blue stripes. The world champions in contention appear eager and prepared to continue playing and defend their championship.
Australia- 6/10:
World champions five times Australia has chosen to use its uniform to highlight its uncomplicated philosophy. They will use their customary yellow uniforms for the ODI World Cup in 2023, along with dark green stripes on the sides and collar trim. Also included in the package will be a First Nations design.
India- 9/10:
The hosts India teamed up with clothing behemoths Adidas for the creation of their uniforms, and they came up with something understated yet sophisticated. The Indian flag’s tricolour motif of orange, white, and green is adorned on the shoulders of the ODI shirt thanks to subtle alterations. The Indian team emblem has two stars above it, symbolising the country’s two World Cup victories.
