LSG vs PBKS: Morne Morkel praises Mayank Yadav’s debut

LSG vs PBKS: Mayank Yadav, a rookie player for the Lucknow Super Giants, made an amazing impression on his IPL debut. On March 30, the 21-year-old made his debut in the highly anticipated tournament during LSG’s match against Punjab Kings at Ekana Stadium.

Punjab’s top order appeared to be in excellent form as the team got off to a fantastic start in their attempt to chase down a goal of 200 runs. But it was the youthful Mayank Yadav who enabled LSG to dismiss the top order and ultimately contributed to his team’s victory.

Morne Morkel, the bowling coach of LSG, was clearly thrilled by his performance. The former celebrity came out to compliment Mayank Yadav on his performance during his IPL debut.

News18 cited Morkel as saying, “Young Mayank got the wickets with some serious heat bowling. Last year was difficult because he had an injury at the first practice. He’s under our greater control. The pleasing thing was that he ran in.”

He continued, “On a good wicket, we asked the guys to do the basics well. instructed him to utilize bouncers and adhere to his lengths. Despite the humidity, he ran in and bowled gas with pride. We had to compile the rules and apply them because we didn’t know how the wicket would behave.”

It is noteworthy that the Lucknow Super Giants won the match by 21 runs after restricting the Punjab Kings to a total of 178 runs in the second innings. Yadav’s outstanding session, which saw him take three wickets and give up 27 runs, earned him the title of Player of the Match. The young player said, following the game, that his strategy was to bowl as much at the stumps as possible and to avoid giving in to pressure.

Others have always told me that first-timers have anxiety, but that it passes after the first ball. Yadav stated, “The strategy was to bowl at the stumps, use the pace as much as possible, and not put too much strain on ourselves.”
