Actor Anushka and Virat Kohli’s 2017 wedding is the stuff of modern fairy tales, with a destination wedding in Italy, Instagram-worthy decor, and wedding outfits designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
The couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on December 11th. Anushka was asked in a 2019 interview with Filmfare, ‘How did you manage to keep the wedding under wraps?’ She stated that she and Virat ‘wanted to keep it genuine’.
It was six years ago that the actor and the ace cricketer shocked the country by announcing their secret wedding in Tuscany. Anushka said that she and Virat Kohli’s intimate, under-the-radar wedding was just a natural extension of their personalities, which seemed unusual for a celebrity couple always in the spotlight.
Actor Anushka gets candid on her wedding:
The actress revealed, “We wanted to keep it genuine. We didn’t want it tainted or contaminated by anything that would remind us that we’re celebrities.”
Anushka Sharma added, “We were with our parents and siblings, who have sacrificed so much for us, and our closest friends, who have supported us through our worst. We would have been reminded of our public standing if we had allowed it to become public in any way.”
She went on to say, “That was not what we wanted. We simply wanted to be two people in love. When we fell in love, we never considered who we were publicly. Our souls fell in love. We wanted that purity to pervade our wedding. That’s why we kept it close to our hearts and away from anything that would cause us to think about anything other than ourselves and the people who were a part of it. It was strange.”
When asked about her marriage to Virat Kohli, Anushka said she married her ‘best friend and confidant’. She stated that she was married to “someone she loves so dearly just for the human being that he is.”
The dream family:
Anushka and Virat’s daughter Vamika was born on January 11, 2021. They announced the news on Instagram on February 1, 2021, alongside their first photo of Vamika. Rumours about Anushka’s second pregnancy have circulated in recent months, but the actress has yet to respond.
Anushka Sharma has frequently praised Virat Kohli for helping him grow as a person. He has been able to deal with all of the pressure and scrutiny because of his partner’s presence. Anushka, on the other hand, considers herself lucky to be Virat’s wife because he is a fighter, a loving husband, and a dedicated father.
