The Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai hosted the star-studded opening ceremony of the inaugural Indian Street Premier League on Wednesday, March 6. Several movie stars, including Ramcharan, Suriya, Saif Ali Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Akshay Kumar, lit up the event.
Renowned Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also attended the function and was seen performing the well-known “Naatu-Naatu” dance during the proceedings. Boman Irani, Akshay Kumar, Ramcharan, Suriya, and others joined Tendulkar as they attempted the well-known step of the song from the film RRR, which also took home the coveted Oscar for Best Original Song.

Master’s XI, led by Sachin Tendulkar, and Khiladi XI, captained by Akshay Kumar, are playing the first match of the tournament. Both sides featured a number of well-known cricketers and celebrities, including Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, and Irfan Pathan.
Moreover, Tendulkar’s mouthwatering shots helped him score thirty points off of just sixteen balls. But Big Boss champion and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui abruptly ended his innings to get rid of him. Tendulkar tried to play the fairly full delivery on off stump from the right-arm seamer to the on side.
But in the end, Naman Ojha finished a simple catch to end his innings, and he was top-edging it to him. As a result, Tendulkar was out for thirty (17), and Munawar was overjoyed to have won the coveted scalp. Interestingly, in the 2003 World Cup final, Australian seamer Glenn McGrath eliminated Tendulkar in a similar manner. With a score of just 4 (6), the right-handed batsman was out in the first over after trying to pull a good-length delivery but ultimately top-edged it to the Australian bowler.
Tendulkar opened the innings with para-cricketer Amir Hussain, whom he had met recently in Jammu & Kashmir, in a heartfelt gesture. To further stoke his desire to play cricket, the great batter even gave him a signed bat.
Tendulkar and Amir faced Akshay Kumar’s opening over to begin the Masters XI innings. In the first over alone, Tendulkar even gave Kumar a massive six, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Hussain added vital runs for his team while skillfully rotating the strike with his idol.
