Footballer Neymar Jr sustained an ACL injury during Tuesday’s Brazil vs. Uruguay match. After that, he made an Instagram statement. The Al-Hilal striker went down clutching his knee in Brazil’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay due to a rough tackle from Nicolas de la Cruz. He was so upset and inconsolable that he had to be taken out of Centenario Stadium on a stretcher.
Saudi Arabia has officially declared that Neymar has injured his left knee’s meniscus and ACL. He is scheduled for surgery and will probably be out of commission for a few months. The great Brazilian athlete wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, expressing his anguish at the loss, “It’s a very sad moment, the worst. I know I’m strong, but I’m going to need my friends and family even more during this trying time. Having surgery after an injury is not easy. After four months of recuperation, picture going through it all over again.”
