Uganda has made history by being selected to compete in the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the United States and the West Indies. The T20 World Cup currently has all 20 teams confirmed for the event. Namibia is the second African country to qualify through the qualifiers.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, has suffered yet another setback after failing to qualify for both the ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup.
Zimbabwe needed Rwanda to beat Uganda to have any chance of qualifying for the T20 World Cup. Uganda, on the other hand, bowled out Rwanda for 65 runs in their final match of the tournament. Later, with nine wickets remaining, they raced down the total in 8.1 overs to secure their fifth win in six.

Furthermore, Zimbabwe, led by Sikandar Raza, is still in the game against Kenya, having scored 217 runs in 20 overs. They will not qualify whether or not they win this game. Their losses to Namibia and Uganda have harmed their confidence.
Uganda ranked 23rd in the T20I rankings and approached every opponent with confidence. Despite their fierce rivalry, one particular event stood out as the pinnacle of their competition. This included a stunning victory over Zimbabwe, the world’s eleventh-ranked Test-playing country.

The top 20 teams for the T20 World Cup 2024 have been finalized. This first group consists of the top eight teams from the T20 World Cup 2022. Then come the West Indies and the United States, who automatically qualify as the tournament’s hosts.
Bangladesh and Afghanistan qualified on the basis of their T20I standings. The remaining eight teams progressed through qualifying rounds in Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and East Asia-Pacific.
