On Tuesday, Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal became ill while travelling to New Delhi and was taken to the ILS Hospital in Agartala. While on the flight, the captain of the Karnataka Ranji Trophy experienced a serious health scare. He was admitted right away to the intensive care unit, where he is receiving care at the moment.
Media reports state that Mayank complained of a throat problem, which led to her being taken off the plane and rushed to the hospital. According to Shavir Tarapore, joint secretary of the Karnataka State Cricket Association, the state association is attempting to obtain additional information regarding the entire incident.

Agarwal vomited and felt uneasy during the flight, according to PTI, and he was given some tests. As a result, he will not play in the upcoming match against Saurashtra. The remainder of the team is scheduled to travel to Rajkot. It is thought that he is safe. Mayank, an Indian test player of twenty-one, guided Karnataka to victory over Tripura on Monday by a margin of 29 runs.
A Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) official told PTI on condition of anonymity, “There is no threat to him (Agarwal). He is presently being monitored in a hospital in Agartala, and we plan to return him to Bengaluru as soon as we receive the doctors’ update, which should come tonight.”
Agarwal will not, however, participate in the upcoming Ranji Trophy match in Surat against Railways. “He will not be participating in the next game that Karnataka plays (on February 2, against Railways in Surat). Apart from that, there’s no veracity to any circulating rumours. We are in contact with physicians and other state officials, and he is now stable,” the official stated.
Official health statement:
Since Nikin Jose is the team’s chosen vice-captain, he should assume captaincy in the upcoming game. In a statement, IndiGo did not provide additional details regarding the nature of the medical emergency.
A medical emergency on board forced IndiGo flight 6E 5177, which was travelling from Agartala to Delhi, to return to its starting point. After being unloaded, the passenger was taken to the hospital immediately in need of additional medical care. At 1620 hours, the aircraft took off once more for its destination, according to the airline’s press release.
When the incident occurred, Agarwal, who had scored 51 and 17 in the previous game, was meant to travel to Surat via Delhi with the entire team. Karnataka’s next game is against Railways in Surat.
The report further stated, “Agarwal reportedly started feeling queasy while the team was in flight and puked a few times while seated. He disembarked as soon as he felt ill. When MR. Shahvir Tarapore from the KSCA called, we dispatched two of our representatives right away to the ILS hospital. We’ve been informed that tests are being performed by doctors while he’s being observed.”
On the condition of anonymity, a Tripura Cricket Association official stated, “At this point, there are several theories regarding what he might have eaten.”
