Although Shimron Hetmyer scored 54 runs, West Indies remained in the game till the very end thanks to Carlos Brathwaite’s first ODI century. He scored 101 runs in 82 balls, including 5 sixes and 9 fours, as West Indies scored 286 runs but came up just five runs short. After the game, Brathwaite appeared dejected and knelt in disappointment. However, New Zealand teammates approached him and consoled him while praising his outstanding innings.
India defeats Pakistan:
Every time India and Pakistan square off in World Cup events, it is celebrated in both nations. Their rivalry is unmatched, and the atmosphere was the same when they competed in the 2019 World Cup in Manchester. India opened the bowling and scored 336/5. Virat Kohli scored 77 runs, and Rohit Sharma scored 140.

Rohit Sharma’s 5 centuries in a single edition:
The 2019 World Cup was a dream come true for Rohit Sharma. With 648 runs in 9 matches, he ultimately finished with the most runs scored in the competition. Sharma broke the one-hundred mark and set a record five centuries throughout his major event campaign.
Notably, his best score was 140 versus Pakistan, the bitterest adversary. The Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara’s record for the most centuries in a single World Cup edition was broken by The Hitman and his five tonnes. Four centuries were scored by Sangakkara at the 2015 World Cup.
The Sri Lankan legend’s appearance in this match ended up being his final in international cricket. Rohit Sharma outperformed himself and finished with five tonnes.
