The current captain of Karnataka and former opener for India, Mayank Agarwal, was put in a difficult situation when he became unwell just before his flight to New Delhi was due to take off. The cricket community has been rocked by this incident, as captain Mayank Agarwal has lodged an official police complaint, citing possible foul play.
Thankfully, after consuming a liquid from a pouch he mistook for water that had been left on his seat during his IndiGo airline flight, it is now thought that he is not in danger. Agarwal has formally reported the issue to the police through his manager, demonstrating his seriousness about the situation.
“International cricket player Mayank Agarwal. His vital signs are normal and he is now stable. However, in order to look into the matter, his manager has filed a specific complaint with the NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station),” SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar told PTI.

The policeman then went on to give a detailed account of the incident, including many details. According to his manager, “There was a pouch in front of him when he was seated in the aircraft. He didn’t drink much, but when he did, his mouth started to hurt. Also, he lost the ability to speak and was taken to the ILS hospital. He suffered from mouth ulcers and swelling. His vitals are stable otherwise.”
After leading Karnataka to an incredible 29-run victory over Tripura, Mayank was ready to travel to Gujarat to lead his team in the Ranji Trophy match against Railways. Regretfully, the opener has been rightfully excluded from the game due to his current physical state. Mayank, on the other hand, will be flown straight to Bengaluru so that she can receive more medical care.
A Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) official told PTI, “Agarwal is not in any danger at all. We will fly him back to Bengaluru as soon as we receive an update from the doctors, which we anticipate tonight. He is currently under observation in a hospital at Agartala.”
Mayank’s international career suffered in 2022 as a result of his performances falling short of expectations. This resulted in his removal from the Indian Test team, which was a major blow for the gifted opener. In addition, he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad after his relationship with the Punjab Kings team ended prior to the previous campaign.
Even with the change of scenery, Mayank found it difficult to have a significant influence while he was with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He managed just 270 runs in ten games, well short of the 270 that was expected of him.
