Prior to the game, the hosts were able to limit RCB to a total of 173/6 thanks in large part to Mustafizur Rahman’s outstanding play with the ball. The spinner from Bangladesh took four wickets and was named Player of the Match. The seasoned Ravindra Jadeja led CSK’s chase with an undefeated score of 25. Together with him, big left-hander Shivam Dube contributed 34 runs without a loss to assist CSK to win the game.
Early in the innings, CSK’s mood was established by debutant Rachin Ravindra’s brilliant innings. The tournament’s first victory was achieved by the reigning champions, who will now play their next game at home on March 26 against Gujarat Titans.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is noteworthy for having played in 52 IPL games during his career, scoring 1797 runs at an average of 39.07. He has scored a career-high 101 runs in the Indian Premier League, amassing 14 half-centuries and smashing a century.
