Doull stated in an interview with Sky Sports, “Fearless cricket is their problem. They don’t play enough courageous cricket. They engage in statistics-driven cricket and frequently worry too much about their numbers. And that is the only aspect of their batting side about which I am worried.”

He further added, “They are talented and boast some of the greatest players in the world, if not the best. But playing brave cricket at the proper time in the competition is important, and I believe that is what really let them down in the previous World Cups.”
The former New Zealand cricketer also asserted that the only concern he has before the World Cup is the lack of risk-taking on the part of Team India’s players. They avoid taking chances because they are afraid of what might be said, what might be written, or what someone might inquire about in regard to their position on the team. That is the only issue that worries me, said Simon Doull. Since their most recent victory was in 2011, India will try to win their third ODI World Cup this time around.
For the unversed, the 16th iteration of the men’s Asia Cup will take place in 2023. With Pakistan serving as the designated host, the games were conducted as One Day Internationals. The event took place in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17, 2023. Six teams are competing in the competition. The current champions are Sri Lanka.
