Osasuna vs Real Sociedad: Preview
Osasuna form analysis
CA Osasuna have produced some strong performances recently, with two wins, one draw and two defeats in their last five outings. They started this period by beating struggling Granada 2-0 at home on October 21st thanks to Ante Budimir’s brace. However, back-to-back away defeats promptly followed. Losing late on 2-1 at Real Betis before a 4-2 loss at Girona despite twice leading through Budimir. Osasuna stopped the rot by claiming a battling point at home in a 1-1 draw against Las Palmas on November 11th.
Budimir again netted but his effort was cancelled out by Alberto Moleiro for the visitors. Most recently on November 26th Osasuna came unstuck again on their travels, well beaten 3-1 away at Villarreal. Budimir was unable to add to his seven league goals so far as Jose Luis Morales netted a hat-trick for the hosts. Overall the club has impressed in attack, but shoring up some clear defensive frailties is vital for Osasuna to remain consistent top half challengers this term.
Real Sociedad form analysis
Real Sociedad have been in excellent recent form, with three wins, a draw and just one defeat from their last five matches. On October 21st, they narrowly beat Mallorca 1-0 at home thanks to a second half Brais Méndez strike. However, La Real were then held to a 2-2 home draw by Rayo Vallecano on October 29th – twice taking the lead through two Mikel Oyarzabal goals but ultimately having to settle for a point.
A hard fought away win against leaders Barcelona promptly followed, clinching a 1-0 victory through Robin Araújo’s late own goal. Imanol Alguacil’s side made it back-to-back away wins on November 11th, beating Almería 3-1 after overturning Sergio Arribas’ second half equaliser through two stoppage time goals from Carlos Fernández (pen) and Martin Zubimendi. They secured an impressive 2-1 home win over Sevilla. Thanks to Umar Sadiq’s goal and Marko Dmitrović’s early own goal.
