Olympiakos vs Maccabi Tel Aviv: Preview
Olympiakos form analysis
Peiraiós has had a bit of a roller coaster ride in European competition this season. They started off strong with a narrow 1-0 win over West Ham in the Europa League back in October. Lucas Paquetá scored the lone goal in that one to give Olympiakos the victory. Things took a turn for the worse in November though when they were absolutely throttled 5-0 by Freiburg. A hat trick from Michael Gregoritsch and goals from Kevin Schlotterbeck and Ritsu Doan made it a night to forget for Olympiakos. But the Greek side bounced back nicely in December by smashing TSC 5-2. A brace from Daniel Podence and goals from Youssef El-Arabi, Amine El Kaabi and an own goal powered Olympiakos to the dominating win.
The new year brought European competition in the form of the Europa Conference League. Olympiakos managed to edge out Ferencvaros 1-0 at home in the first leg thanks to a late goal from El Kaabi. They then went to Hungary and grinded out another 1-0 victory with El Kaabi again scoring the winner from the penalty spot.
