AJ Lee left WWE a long time ago, but still her name pops up by the fans during various wrestling discussions, with many still wanting her to come back. Ever since her husband, CM Punk, has returned to the company, people have been wishing more for AJ’s return. For the first time after almost a decade in WWE, AJ Lee’s name was taken on Monday Night Raw by Drew McIntyre. “The Scottish Warrior” not only targeted Punk’s wife but also took his dog Larry’s name. Since the beginning of the year, AJ Lee has been expected to return, first in Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and most recently at the Money in the Bank PLE, but unfortunately that didn’t happen.
Punk wants AJ to return to WWE
Now, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez has revealed that Punk is trying to convince AJ Lee to return to WWE. Perez stated that she talked to CM Punk about convincing AJ Lee back, but he told her that he has been doing the same thing. “He is trying to get her to come back, he’s pulling her in but, I hope one day she decides to come back and have a match with me,” said Perez.
The NXT Women’s champion is a big fan of AJ Lee and wants to fight her someday. So it is not just WWE fans and CM Punk who want to bring AJ Lee back to WWE for his storyline, but also Roxanne, who is waiting for the former WWE Divas champion’s return.
Lee’s return will make the storyline more interesting
AJ Lee’s return to the Stamford-based promotion will add more spice to Punk’s ongoing storyline in WWE. Lee and Punk have been involved in storylines before, and her return is definitely going to bring thrills and excitement between fans. McIntyre will be on AJ’s radar, as he was the one who took her name. SummerSlam is known for big surprises, so AJ might appear at the PLE. If AJ comes back, she might play the spoiler game against Drew and help her husband defeat the Scottish Warrior.
