Nottingham Forest vs West Ham: Preview
Nottingham Forest form analysis
Forest has been in poor form lately. Securing only one win in their last five Premier League fixtures. Which began by beating Manchester United 2-1 at home on December 30th, with goals from N. Domínguez and M. Gibbs-White sealing the win after equalizing late. However, on January 20th Forest lost 3-2 at home to Brentford despite going ahead early through Danilo and C. Wood scoring. Things got worse on January 31st with a 2-1 home loss to Arsenal, only scoring via T. Awoniyi late on.
Looking to bounce back, on February 4th Forest drew 1-1 away at Bournemouth – they conceded to J. Kluivert before C. Hudson-Odoi equalized. Most recently on February 10th, Forest lost 3-2 at home to Newcastle after twice equalizing through A. Elanga and C. Hudson-Odoi – Bruno Guimarães scored twice for Newcastle. Overall, Forest have struggled defensively but shown attacking promise. Tighter defense could help convert their goal threat into better results as they battle relegation.
West Ham form analysis
West Ham’s form was very uncalled for in recent games. Failing to win even one of their last five Premier league matches. Starting with a 0-0 home draw against Brighton on January 3rd. On January 21st away at Sheffield United, West Ham drew 2-2 – they went ahead through M. Cornet before conceding to B. Brereton and O. McBurnie’s late penalty after leading again via J. Ward-Prowse. On February 2nd, West Ham drew 1-1 at home with Bournemouth, going behind early before J. Ward-Prowse equalized from the penalty spot.
However, on February 4th West Ham were beaten 3-0 away by Manchester United courtesy of goals from R. Højlund and A. Garnacho. Things got even worse on February 11th as West Ham were thrashed 6-0 at home by Arsenal, conceding to W. Saliba, B. Saka, Gabriel Magalhães, L. Trossard and an own goal. Overall, West Ham have lacked attacking threat and defensive solidity. Finding both will be critical if they hope to make for a top table push.
Nottingham Forest vs West Ham: Prediction
3.4 and 3.6 is the average number of goals seen in the last games of Forest at home and West Ham away respectively. A quiet encounter between these two teams is not a likely outcome.
While the ten points the Hammers gained from their last six away fixtures is certainly not inspiring. They should do pretty well against a club with just three points in seven league matches at home.
