After the Men in Green lost to Afghanistan in their first-ever ODI on Monday, Pakistan’s legendary bowler Shoaib Akhtar unleashed a tirade on Babar Azam and company. The Pak cricket team is now in danger of losing the World Cup 2023 after suffering an eight-wicket loss for the third time in a row.
On a challenging pitch, Pakistan scored a strong 282/7 while batting first, but their bowlers and fielders severely let Afghanistan down. The team’s fielding and fitness standards were criticized by Pakistan great Wasim Akram in a blistering attack, and now Akhtar has blasted the team for their cautious batting strategy.
“My heart hurts; I played for Pakistan. I’ll continue to back Pakistan. I would have advised Babar to assume the role of captain if I were with him right now. This is the worst thing that has ever occurred. Let’s win all four of our games now that we are playing them,” Shoaib stated on YouTube.
Shoaib slams Pak cricket team:
He further adds, “It’s a system glitch if he is viewing my videos. Give it up. Play appropriate people. Return Fakhar, and grant him permission to launch an assault. Bring Zaman along, and explore your options. Play forcefully. Babar ought to bat at a 120-strike rate as well. When they bat, Pakistan has a strike rate between 80 and 90. At 120, Gurbaz was performing. Every match, Pakistan uses 150 dot balls. We play slowly because we are afraid.”
In the 22nd match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan’s cricket team was stunned by Afghanistan, losing by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday. Afghanistan defeated Pakistan for the first time in eight meetings, and Pakistan under Babar Azam now faces elimination from the tournament before it even reaches the semifinals.
In a rare interview with Zee News, former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar criticized the team management following their shocking defeat. The Afghanistan backroom crew. Which includes former England batter Jonathan Trott as head coach and former India captain Ajay Jadeja as a mentor, was praised by Akhtar.
