One of the biggest streaming platforms, Netflix, has announced a documentary series on former WWE chairman Vince McMahon that charts the rise and fall of one of the wrestling world’s biggest business tycoons. The streaming media company made the announcement on X (formerly called Twitter) and stated that the series will release on September 25.
“Mr. McMahon, a documentary series chronicling the rise and fall of the WWE’s controversial founder, is coming to Netflix on September 25. From Chris Smith, Executive Producer of Tiger King, and Bill Simmons,” said the post.
The docuseries will feature interviews from people close to Vince
It says that the documentary series will feature interviews with McMahon, his family and some notable names from the wrestling industry before his resignation. It will also feature interviews from journalists who covered the allegations against Vince. The former WWE chairman was known as a controversial founder, but stories about him came to the fore when his name came up in the sexual abuse and trafficking of a female employee of the company. The woman who filed the lawsuit against McMahon is former WWE employee Janel Grant.
McMahon has a huge history of accusations
Grant filed a 63-page lawsuit against McMahon on January 26, just days after he became the executive chairman of WWE’s parent company, TKO Group. After being accused of the allegations, McMahon resigned from his position immediately. The suit was not only filed against Vince McMahon but also his associate and former Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis. Janel Grant accused Vince of trafficking her to Laurinaitis and some other WWE employees.
Grant also hinted at the involvement of WWE superstar Brock Lesnar, although she did not name him. She claimed that Vince had shared her contact number with Lesnar and the former WWE World Champion wanted to fix a Playboy date with her. She further claimed that Lesnar asked her to send him pictures of others urinating and this was all done by Vince because he wanted to sign Lesnar for a business deal.

Janel Grant had accused Vince McMahon of sexually abusing her on multiple occasions from 2019, when she started working in the Stamford-based promotion, until 2022, when she left. Several stories of Vince McMahon’s lecherous attempts on WWE employees have surfaced before. The late Ashley Massaro is one of them, who accused Vince McMahon of ruining her career because she refused to sleep with him in 2006.
