NBA training camps for the 2023-24 season will officially start on October 3 and veteran players are allowed to come a day earlier. The NBA preseason will begin on October 5, while the regular season will start on October 24 with two games. The Defending champion Denver Nuggets will host the LA Lakers and after this, Phoenix Suns will face the Golden State Warriors. Training camps are a time for teams to get back together and practice before the season starts. Teams go through practices and preseason games to finalize the roster as Exhibition 10. The camps open slightly earlier for some teams, those who play preseason games at international sites can start their training camp on September 26 or 27.
Major games of Preseason
The first preseason game of the 2023–24 season will be held in Abu Dhabi. The Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves will play two matches in the Arab country on October 5 and 7. Mavericks will also travel to Spain to face off against Real Madrid in an exhibition match on October 10. The preseason games will also continue in Canada on October 8. The Toronto Raptors will play the Sacramento Kings in Vancouver. The OKC Thunder will play the Detroit Pistons on October 12.
International matches will be seen as well
International action will also be seen during the season. The Orlando Magic will play against the Atlanta Hawks in Mexico City on November 9 in a regular-season matchup. Other teams will play their preseason schedules at their home fields. Most of the teams will play five preseason games. NBA preseason action will end on October 20.
In-Season tournament will begin in November
The G League Draft will take place on October 28. Its training camp will begin on October 30 and games will start on November 10. There will also be other important dates to pay attention to during the early parts of the season. The inaugural In-Season tournament will start on November 3. The semifinals and finals will take place on December 7 and 9 in Las Vegas. This will add another exciting action to the basketball calendar.
