There are title favourites in every NBA season. But this season, Boston and Denver have proven to be more than just the conventional favourites, winning their conferences, drawing sizable crowds, and handling a lot of action.
Boston is suddenly a clear favourite to win the East at -175. Philadelphia (+850) and Milwaukee (+550) are the only conference opponents with odds under +1000.
In the Western Conference odds table, Denver (+145) is a smaller favourite, but only because more potential top-tier competitors are thought to be in the West. The Suns have a thermonuclear offence, the Thunder have amazing depth, the Clippers have an experienced core, and the Timberwolves have dominated the standings for the majority of the regular season. In the last month of the regular season, the Mavericks had the best record in the NBA. Both the Lakers and the Warriors are still relevant.
Top teams on NBA Final Odds
Boston Celtics’ NBA Finals odds
The Boston Celtics easily secured the top seed in the East as they aim to win their first NBA championship since 2008. The Celtics have been led this season by Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown.
Denver Nuggets NBA Finals odds
Despite fierce competition for the top spot, the reigning NBA champion Nuggets remain the clear favourite in the West. As always, Nikola Jokic is the team’s top scorer, rebounder, and assist leader. In Denver, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. both make substantial contributions.
Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA Finals odds
Even if the Bucks haven’t experienced the desired results since signing Doc Rivers to take Adrian Griffin’s position, the betting public yet regards them favourably. Giannis Antetokounmpo, the 2021 Finals MVP and two-time league MVP, continues to have a significant impact. With more points and rebounds than anybody else in the Bucks, Giannis is helped along by recent arrival Damian Lillard.
LA Clippers’ NBA Finals odds
The Clippers’ chances of winning the championship increased with their acquisition of James Harden. With Harden, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard at the forefront, LA suddenly has its own Big Three. In the middle of a closely packed West standings, the Clippers are in the mix.
Phoenix Suns’ NBA Finals odds
Considering their star power, the Suns had the lowest offensive rating in the fourth quarter of the season. The Suns have not exactly been a dominant team, but they are in the playoffs. In Phoenix, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are at the forefront.
Golden State Warriors’ NBA Finals odds
After a brilliant start, the Golden State Warriors have faltered and are far from the dynasty they established in the 2010s. Steph Curry’s outstanding ability to score points, particularly from long range, is a key component of the Warriors’ offensive scheme.
Los Angeles Lakers’ NBA Finals odds
Despite having a difficult season, the Lakers have guaranteed a spot in the play-in tournament. Leading the Lakers in scoring, LeBron James remains a pillar of the club. The Lakers are competitive because of Anthony Davis’s scoring ability, and he keeps proving to be a vital member of the squad.
