Remember, the last-arm Australian fast bowler, Nathan Bracken, who could swing the ball both ways? One of the best swing bowlers, Australia has ever produced, Nathan Bracken now works in a civil engineering company named Fulton Hogan, based in New South Wales.
The left-arm seamer celebrated his 47th birthday on 12th September 2024. For the last seven months, he has been plying his trade as BDM Spray Seal – NSW Civil & Manufacturing in the company.

Earlier, he worked as an account manager for Boral for five years before calling it quits in March. Furthermore, in 2023, he appeared as the Liberal Party’s candidate for The Entrance in the New South Wales state election.
Bracken was known for consistently hitting the right lengths and was a nightmare in the power play for some batters. He played 140 international matches for Australia across formats and picked 205 wickets. Bracken was part of the Australian team that played in the 2003 and 2007 ODI World Cups. He played his last international fixture for Australia against England in September 2009.
For the unversed, Nathan Bracken was offered a lucrative deal from Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2011 edition of the Indian Premier League. The Red Army offered him a sum of INR 1.3 crores for his services but he refused to take part that season. He also didn’t participate in the 2011-12 BBL season due to a knee injury.

- Nathan Bracken was awarded as the world’s number one bowler in 2008 in ODIs. The famous ODI between South Africa and Australia in Johannesburg in 2006 saw him pick five wickets.
- He played 116 ODIs for Australia and picked 174 wickets at an average of 24.36 and an economy of 4.41. In 19 T20Is, he claimed as many wickets at an economy of just under 7.
- He also played five Tests for Australia and bagged 12 wickets.
- Nathan Bracken was also part of the Australian team that played in the 2007 T20 World Cup. He played six matches and scalped eight wickets at an average of 17.75.
