MMA veterans Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal have been given a mandatory six-day suspension following their stunning boxing match last Saturday. “The Stockton Slugger” avenged his 2019 loss to Masvidal in the boxing rematch by winning the match via unanimous decision. After 10 rounds, the scores were in Diaz’s favor.
Diaz is satisfied with his first win in Boxing
Despite tough competition in the bout, neither of them was injured and both are expected to be cleared and return later this month. However, both fighters have to face suspension until July 12. After the fight, Diaz expressed his satisfaction with his first win in professional boxing. He even stated that he is ready to fight the highest-rated boxer and become the best fighter worldwide.
Gamebred feels the decision was unfair
Nate Diaz even called out Jake Paul for a rematch and Leon Edwards for a return to the UFC. On the other hand, “Gamebred” was not satisfied with the decision and claimed that he landed more dominating shots. He even demanded a rematch at a more neutral venue.
In the co-main event, Daniel Jacobs has received a 60-day suspension after losing to Shane Mosley Jr. “Miracle Man” will need medical clearance before resuming training.
Diaz dismissed the possibility of an immediate trilogy with Masvidal, saying that it is a completely different situation for later. “I think we are 1-0 on each other. He got a win in MMA and I got a win in boxing. Who knows what is going to happen with him, but at some point, something,” said Diaz.
Both fighters showed amazing athleticism
The rematch between these two displayed great athleticism and showmanship. Both Masvidal and Diaz showcased their star power. The event drew over 18,000 combat fans to the Honda Center in California, which is the hometown of Diaz. Both fighters didn’t disappoint and displayed thrilling action for the crowd. The incredible action and their constant pace drove the audience crazy, proving why these two are among the most popular and captivating men in the sport.
