On Wednesday, March 6 at The Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui dismissed legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, reminding supporters of his infamous dismissal from the ODI World Cup 2003 final against Glenn McGrath.
During the Indian Street Premier League 2024 curtain-raiser, Tendulkar opened the innings for Masters XI and brought back memories of his playing days with some amazing shots all over the ground.
Tendulkar reached thirty points off of just sixteen balls thanks to his delicious shots. However, stand-up comedian and Big Boss winner Munawar Faruqui abruptly ended his innings to dismiss him. Tendulkar attempted to play the right-arm seamer’s fullish delivery on off stump to the on side.

But in the end, he was top-edging it to Naman Ojha, who finished a straightforward catch to end his innings. Tendulkar was consequently out for thirty (17), and Munawar was ecstatic to have taken home the coveted scalp.
Remarkably, Tendulkar was eliminated in a similar fashion against Australian seamer Glenn McGrath during the 2003 World Cup final. The right-handed batsman attempted to pull a good-length delivery but ultimately top-edged it to the Australian bowler, getting out in the first over itself with a score of just 4 (6).
Tendulkar had earlier opened the innings with para-cricketer Amir Hussain Lone, whom he had met in Jammu and Kashmir. Even though Hussain had special needs, the great cricketer was touched by his love for the game and the way he overcame them to play cricket.
Hussain brilliantly rotated the strike, realizing his dream of batting beside his hero. In the meantime, a number of famous people and former cricket players, including Suresh Raina, Stuart Binny, Yusuf Patha, Ifran Pathan, and Praveen Kumar, participated in the Indian Street Premier League’s inaugural match.
Munawar meets Elvish:
Apart from this, paparazzi snapped pictures of Bigg Boss winners Munawar Faruqui and Elvish Yadav together. It was noted that they attended the Indian Street Premiere League (ISPL) game. The glimpse turned out to be a huge fan moment for Elvish Yadav.
Munawar Faruqui graced the trophy and prize money for Bigg Boss 17. But it was from that same controversial show that Elvish Yadav rose to fame. He participated in and even won Bigg Boss OTT’s second season. Elvish Yadav has been in the news and seems to be in the public eye constantly since appearing on the show.
Elvish was seen sporting a blue jersey while Munawar was seen supporting the team in a pink one. The two crossed paths at what turned out to be a memorable moment for Elvish. Using their phones, they both took pictures. The YouTubers were also seen chatting among themselves.
