MS W vs SS W Teams Preview
Melbourne Stars Preview
Stars has managed to win their first fixture against Sydney Sixers followed by one more win against the Scorchers. But other than that they had a bad campaign this season as they couldn’t be consistent in their game.
Meg Lanning is the top scorer for Stars with 171 runs on her name. But somehow she couldn’t maintain her momentum & failed to display consistent performances in the last three matches. Capsey /(143) & Dunkley (84) are doing good with the bat but they need more runs from Reid (26 runs in 3 games) and Bouchier, who has 92 runs in total but only 19 in her last 4 games.
In the bowling department, Sutherland has figures of 11-184 she has received good support from Fay who too has returned with figures of 4-164. Garth’s figures of 4-164 is not what she is capable of & she needs to up her game if they aim to win this clash. On the other hand, Moloney is the other bowler who is lagging with a poor show with the ball. She needs to up her game & perform if winning is on their mind.

The Sixers had a good win against the Renegades, but still, they didn’t have a sustainable campaign in the WBBL 2023 so far. There are a lot of improvements to be made & we are not confident that they can win more fixtures in a trot.
Bates (50 runs) and Burns (77 runs) have failed to perform consistently & couldn’t lead the team to a spectacular win. Gardner (147 runs) has sporadic strong performances, but her consistency and scores are erratic at best.
Coming to Tyron she has displayed an excellent show with the bat by scoring 154 runs & can perform for the team. The player to watch out for is Ellys ePerry who has scored 247 runs at an average of 49.40. Apart from one game of 14 runs, Perry has scored above 40 runs in her last 5 matches. She’s basically the one player that the Stars need to remove quickly.
Coming to the bowling attack, the level of competitiveness is too low for the Sixers. Gardner has bowled with best figures of 13-194 at economy of 7.46. She has scalped two wickets per game. Cheatle’s 13 wickets is good but she’s still allowing far too many runs (206). Somehow, Perry picked up 5 wickets in the match against the Renegades, but she’s not typically a bowler and this was the only game she’s bowled in.

MS W vs SS W Pitch Report
The pitch at Jubilee Park is batters friendly providing aid to the batters. Here batters could perform well as the ball doesn’t move or bounce much. The boundaries here are smaller than on other grounds, so there is a good chance for big hitters to score runs.
Toss to bat First
We expect the captain to win the toss to bat first & get the most out of this batter-friendly pitch. Batters can easily make strokes as the ball comes on the bat smoothly helping them to score runs at a brisk rate. Thus the team winning the toss will opt to bat first.
MS W vs SS W Winning Prediction
Looking at the Player’s forms & records of both teams we think that Sydney Sixers could have an edge over the Stars. Though both the teams are riding on the same ship, Sixers NRR is better than Stars & they can make the most of this fact by performing well & outclassing Melbourne Stars in this clash.
