Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, an avid cricket fan, is said to have requested updates on Virat Kohli’s score during the 2023 ODI World Cup update final between Australia and India at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Kohli’s performance has already piqued Nadella’s interest. He also saw India vs. Pakistan in the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2022, in which Kohli scored one of his best centuries to help India defeat its bitter rivals.
Nadella inquired about Kohli’s performance during a crucial meeting following the recently concluded ODI World Cup final. In an interview with the New Yorker, he said: “Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is a fan of Team India – even during an important meeting, he asked for updates on Virat Kohli’s scores and batting performance during the World Cup final.”
Nadella asks for World Cup update:
Nadella, a self-described “cricket tragic,” has been a fan of the game since he was a child. He has publicly expressed his admiration for Kohli, who has been dubbed “one of the greatest batters of all time.” Nadella praised Kohli’s leadership abilities, describing him as “a true champion.”
Furthermore, Nadella has been a vocal supporter of the Indian team’s global cricket promotion. He has stated that he is pleased to be a part of the global cricket community and that cricket can bring people from all walks of life together.
Ashwin spoke with S Badrinath on his YouTube channel about the events that led up to the ultimate loss. He also praised Virat and Rohit’s leadership and chemistry.
The Rajasthan Royals spinner admitted, “Yes, we felt the pain. Rohit and Virat were in tears. Seeing that made me feel bad. Anyway, it wasn’t meant to be. This team had a lot of experience. Everyone knew exactly what to do. Then it became professional. Everyone knew their warm-ups and routines. I believe two natural leaders allowed the team to do these two (Kohli and Rohit) and created a vibe.”
