In essence, Virat Kohli has controlled the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. He has already struck two centuries and four half-centuries in eight outings. With his most recent century against South Africa, Virat Kohli tied the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for the most 49 ODI hundreds. After the ton, though, Mohammed Hafeez, a former Pakistani batter, made an odd comment. “I observed a third instance of selfishness in Virat Kohli’s batting during this World Cup. He didn’t put the team first in the 49th over, instead aiming to take a single to reach his century,” he stated on the Top Cricket Analysis show. Several former cricket players, including Michael Vaughan and Venkatesh Prasad, were included in the analysis.
Virat Kohli, the top batsman for India, was the target of another subtle jab from Mohammed Hafeez, but Michael Vaughan, a former cricket player from England, defended Kohli with a humorous response.
Ben Stokes hit a critical century on Wednesday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium to lead England against the Netherlands in the 2017 World Cup and help the Three Lions to a score of 339. His innings of 108 in 84 balls set the tone for the match and helped England win the competition for the second time.
Hafeez commented on X, “Saviour of the ship @benstokes38,” while simultaneously complimenting Stokes for his outstanding performance under duress and taking a subtle jab at Kohli for what he called a “selfish approach” to his century against South Africa in Kolkata. Capable of stabilizing the innings when needed and aggressively pursuing the maximum number of runs necessary for the team to win at the conclusion. A simple illustration of a selfish versus a selfless approach”

In response to Hafeez’s remarks, Vaughan stated that the reason for Hafeez’s ongoing taunts at Kohli is that the Indian batsman bowled him in a 2012 India vs. Pakistan game.
“It appears that @imVkohli bowled you, @MHafeez22! Is this the reason you make fun of him all the time?” Vaughan posted on X.
Virat’s innings against South Africa were particularly memorable because, on his 35th birthday, he equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds. Additionally, thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s five-wicket haul, India unleashed a devastating attack at the Eden Gardens, destroying South Africa by a massive 243 runs in the battle of one and two in the points table on Sunday.
With this victory, India continued their winning run in the tournament, making it eight wins in a row. On Sunday, the Men in Blue will play their last group-stage match against the Netherlands.
