UFC Bantamweight fighter Umar Nurmagomedov, who is the cousin of the former UFC champion Khabib, is aiming to win the bantamweight championship. After defeating Cory Sandhegen, Umar issued warnings to both Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili. However, the Georgian fighter thinks that “Young Eagle” is not credible enough for a title shot. Recently, in an interview with Helen Yee, Dvalishvili shared his opinion about Umar’s victory. “The Machine” praised the 28-year-old and congratulated him for the win. However, he claimed that the Cory Sandhagen fight was a gift from UFC to Umar.Â
Dvalishvili’s opinion on Umar getting the title shot
Talking about his upcoming clash with Sean O’Malley, he said that this fight is his main target and that he would be ready to face anyone the promotion presents to him next. He then tried to downplay Umar’s achievement by saying that according to him, David Figueiredo deserved a title shot more.Â
I think Fegueiredo deserves more because he beat the former champion and he beat Chito. He dominated Chito. Figueiredo is a big name,” said Dvalishvili. This was a strange look at the Bantamweight title landscape, as Umar has been a dominant fighter in the UFC since his debut and is undefeated so far. His recent win was also praised by the entire MMA community.Â
The Young Eagle took shots at SugaÂ
A few weeks ago, Umar Nurmagomedov criticized Sean O’Malley and said that he was ashamed of Suga being the UFC Bantamweight champion. Umar said that being a man doesn’t always mean making a lot of money in life. He pointed out that a man with good values and moral qualities is a gentleman, which according to him O’Malley is not. Umar then started to warn the other fighters of UFC and promised to defeat first O’Malley and then Dvalishvili. To do that, the “Young Eagle” has to wait until the title match between O’Malley and Dvalishvilli at UFC 306 is done.Â

The Bantamweight champion didn’t stay quiet and promised to defeat Umar Nurmagomedov. He further stated that defeating a Dagestani fighter would be more fun for him because it would make Conor McGregor jealous. With the shots being fired from everywhere, the Bantamweight title scenario looks exciting now. Fans will be eager to see who finally comes out on top.Â
