In the Wankhede Stadium, free popcorn and cold beverages will be given to fans following the free water distribution at all World Cup venues. Following Tuesday’s South Africa vs. Bangladesh match, the Mumbai Cricket Association made its decision (Oct 24).
MCA President Amol Kale stated that the association would cover all expenses related to the exercise and that he suggested the idea, which was approved. The choice might make it easier to attract large crowds to the stadium, particularly for the neutral matches.
Kale stated, “I had suggested giving away free popcorn and cold beverages to every fan who shows up to watch a World Cup game. That is intended for non-hospitality regions. Every fan will receive free popcorn and coke after their tickets are stamped.” As reported by The Indian Express.
“It will be paid for by the MCA. This will begin with the India vs. Sri Lanka match and continue through to the semifinals. The proposal has the approval of the MCA Apex members,” he continued.
IND v/s Sri match:
There are three World Cup matches left in the Wankhede Stadium’s schedule. On November 2, India will play Sri Lanka, and on November 7, Afghanistan will play Australia. This location will also host the first semifinal, which pits the team at the top of the points table against the team in fourth place.
On November 1, MCA will unveil the statue of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar in addition to providing free popcorn and cold drinks. The statue will be unveiled in the space designated for the roundabout outside the MCA lounge.

Earlier this month, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah declared that all stadium venues in the nation will offer free packaged and mineral water to spectators and fans on the first day of the World Cup.
“I’m happy to announce that spectators at stadiums all over India will receive FREE packaged and mineral water. Enjoy the games and stay hydrated! Let’s make treasured memories in 2023 during the CWC,” declared Jay Shah.
The majority of Indian stadiums still lack basic amenities, even though the country is the centre of the cricket world. In contrast to SENA stadiums, which promote public enjoyment, Indian fans frequently have to circumvent a thousand rules in order to watch a game. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the recent announcements will improve the viewing experience.
