On Sunday, March 10, former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary congratulated his former teammate Yusuf Pathan on entering politics. Notably, Pathan will represent the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the West Bengal constituency of Baharampur. Along with Kirti Azad, the 1983 World Cup winner, the TMC has 42 candidates running for the upcoming General elections, including the former cricket player from India.
Manoj Tiwary sent his best wishes to his former teammate Pathan as he gets ready for his next stint on the Politics field. Recalling their playing days, Tiwary, who is currently Bengal’s Minister of Sports, wished him luck on his new endeavour.

Yusuf is aware of the lengthy past of West Bengal. Throughout his seven seasons with KKR, he won several games on his own to contribute to the team’s success. In the 2007 T20 World Cup finals, the Baroda native made his debut for his nation against Pakistan. He continued to represent India in 57 ODIs and 22 T20Is.
In One-Day Internationals, he amassed 810 runs at a strike average of 113.60 and an average of 27. In the 50-over format, Yusuf’s off-spin bowling claimed 33 wickets at an average of 41.36. Meanwhile, with an average of 18.15 and a strike rate of 146.58 in T20Is, the right-hander scored 236 runs. With the ball, he claimed 13 wickets at an average of 33.69.
Throughout his career, Yusuf took part in 174 IPL games. He scored 3,204 runs at a strike rate of 142.97 and an average of 29.13. With the ball, he claimed 42 wickets. In February 2021, he quit playing the game in all of its formats. However, the 2011 ODI World Cup and 2007 T20 World Cup winner has enthralled fans with his explosive batting in the various legendary leagues that are currently being played in international cricket.
