The only franchise-style or commercial badminton league in India is the Premier Badminton League. Originally called the Indian Badminton League, it was founded in 2013 and has since developed into one of India’s most well-known and prosperous international tournaments. Six teams competed in the Indian Badminton League’s inaugural season, with Hyderabad Hotshots emerging victorious. Three years after the first season, the tournament was not held. It was, nevertheless, revived as the Premier Badminton League in 2016.
Format of The Premier Badminton League
The League uses a league-cum-knockout format. In the league stage, each club has five ties with the other five clubs. There will be three games in each meeting, each earning fifteen points. The annual All India Inter-Institutional Badminton Tournament features teams from the Reserve Bank of India, LIC of India, BSNL Sports Board, Airports Authority of India, Food Corporation of India, Ordnance Factory Sports Control Board, Department of Atomic Energy, Air Force Sports Control Board, and Employees State Insurance Corporation competing in both team and individual events.
The divisions in the team event are Men Singles, Men Doubles, Women Singles, Women Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. All Finalists in every event will be eligible to compete in Senior Nationals, and the top team will advance to the Senior National Championship.
Sub Junior Indian National Badminton Championships

Badminton Tournaments In India: The Sub Junior National Badminton Championships take place once a year. Usually, it takes place around the end of the year. 2018 will see the 32nd Sub Junior Championship. U13 and U15 are the two general groups into which it is split. Boys and girls alike are welcome to enter the competition. There are also standard divisions of singles and doubles under each. The top 16 singles and top 8 doubles players from the BAI rankings, as well as two entries each from each state, are all eligible to compete in this event.
Junior Indian National Badminton Championship

Every year, an international badminton competition called the Syed Modi International Badminton Championships is held in India. In 2009, this competition made its badminton circuit debut as a BWF Grand Prix event. After a brief move to Hyderabad in 2010, it has since taken place yearly in the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium in Lucknow. In 2011, it received an upgrade to Grand Prix Gold level. The World Federation of Badminton established a new event structure in 2017.
