Galle Marvels will lock horns with Kandy Falcons in the 14th match of the Lanka Premier League 2024 on Wednesday. The Marvels haven’t maintained consistency in the tournament so far but still manage to be at number two on the table.
They have accumulated three wins in five matches with a total of six points. Marvels lost their last game against Dambulla Sixers by 25 runs. On the other hand, Kandy Falcons are languishing at the bottom of the points table with two wins in five matches.

The last time when Galle Marvels met Kandy Falcons, Tim Seifert played a match-winning knock of 82 off 49. Isuru Udana picked up three wickets with the ball. The Marvels would be confident of beating them once again.
In their last game, however, the batting unit fell like a pack of cards. Eight wickets fell for just 62 runs on the board. Isuru Udana ignited some hope with a brilliant 72-run knock off 38 balls but it was never going to be enough.

The Falcons would be relieved to pick up a win after losing three games in a trot. They must continue to keep the winning momentum from here.
Despite the win, the bowling unit was hammered all around the park. Everyone went for over 10 runs an over. Shanaka picked three wickets, while Chameera and R Mendis returned with two scalps. Skipper, Hasaranga went for 40 in four overs without picking a wicket. It hasn’t been a great season for him so far.
Despite conceding 224 runs in the first innings, the Falcons managed to chase it down. Opener, Dinesh Chandimal found his form back at the right time as he played a brilliant knock of 89 off 37 balls. Kamindu Mendis showed his class with an unbeaten knock of 65 off 36 balls. Mathews too remained unbeaten for his 13-ball 29.
