Despite losing their last league stage game against the Dambulla Sixers, the Colombo Strikers held on to its third spot on the points table with four wins in eight matches.
And, despite the Sixers managing to win their last game, they finished at the fifth spot, which meant that Kandy Falcons ended up getting the chance to play the Eliminator clash. Nevertheless, the Falcons would be keen to showcase their best performance in a do-or-die clash on Thursday.

Colombo Strikers had won two back-to-back games and were on course of making a hat-trick of wins. However, they lost their last league stage game against Dambulla Sixers by 28 runs.
The Strikers were brilliant with the ball as they had bundled out the Sixers for just 123 runs. B Fernando was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Pathirana and Wellalage picked two wickets each.
Much to the surprise of everyone, they were bowled out for just 95 runs in the second innings. Thisara Perera top-scored with the bat, making 30 runs in 31 deliveries, including one four and three sixes.
They had a forgettable outing with the bat and would be looking to come back stronger. Glenn Phillips is their highest run-getter this season. The onus will be on him with the bat, alongside the likes of Gurbaz, Perera, and Samarawickrama, to name a few.
Kandy Falcons Review
Despite not playing to their potential, the Falcons have managed to make it to the Eliminator clash. Their recent performance has been subpar, having won two out of their last four games.
The good thing is that they are coming off a 54-run win in their last game. The Falcons had posted a massive 222-run total, courtesy of a collective batting effort. Fletcher top-scored with 60, while Mendis and Mathews scored 51 and 44, respectively.
In reply, Dambulla Sixers managed to score 168 runs, losing the game by 54 runs. Skipper Hasaranga led the way with the ball with four wickets, while Shanaka picked three.
The win should have given Kandy Falcons the much-needed confidence and they would be coming all guns blazing in a do-or-die encounter.
