The field is set & the players are ready as the Legends Cricket Trophy 2024 is all set to be played from March 8-19 2024 on the grounds of Pallakele Stadium in Kandy. The prestigious league is set to be played in Sri Lanka. And this time the league is special as the hosts have introduced a brand new 90-ball format.
The Legends Crocket Trophy 2024 will be a star-studded affair with stars such as Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, and Harbhajan Singh featuring in the league. There is more zest to the new season as it will witness players competing in the new 90-ball format.
What is the new 90-ball format in Legends Cricket Trophy all about?
Teams are all set to deploy five bowlers each who will bowl a guaranteed three overs to showcase their skills. However, the twist comes when one bowler will step up to deliver four overs by the 60th ball.
Changed Powerplay rules & Strategic Time Outs
Adding to the zest in the new powerplay rules adds a pinch of zest to the league. The bowling Power Play spans balls 1 to 24, while the batting Power Play can be taken anytime after the 60th ball. Coming the strategic time-outs provides teams with strategic breaks scheduled at the end of the 48th ball, with provisions for an early timeout if a wicket falls between the 42nd and 48th ball.
