The 15th match of the Lanka Premier League 2024 sees Jaffna Kings take on Candy Falcons on Saturday at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Jaffna Kings have been sensational this season and are sitting at the top of the standings with four wins in six games.
After losing against the Kandy Falcons, they stormed back with a seven-wicket win over Colombo Strikers in their last game. On the other hand, it has been a forgettable season for Kandy Falcons. In the bowling unit, Azmatullah and Asitha Fernando picked two wickets each in the last game. Fabien Allen also returned with brilliant figures of 1 for 26 in four overs.
Kandy Falcons Review:
Despite putting in fighting performances, the result hasn’t gone their way this season. The Falcons haven’t delivered at the most crucial stages in the tournament. Kandy Falcons have won only two matches and need to win both their remaining games to give them a chance.
In the last game, Andre Fletcher (69) and Chandimal (32) provided them a brilliant start. However, the middle-order couldn’t capitalize and wickets fell in quick intervals. The bowlers have also looked ordinary. Hasaranga and Andre Fletcher were the only two bowlers who could pick a wicket each.
Things are looking gloomy at the moment. Nevertheless, Falcons ought to pick themselves up and come back stronger.
