Kylian Mbappe Vows to Adapt at Real Madrid, Excited for New Chapter
Kylian Mbappe expressed his determination to adjust to his new teammates at Real Madrid and emphasized his flexibility in playing any attacking position in a team brimming with star talent.
The 25-year-old French international made these statements during his first press conference as a Real Madrid player, just minutes after being officially unveiled to over 70,000 enthusiastic fans at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Mbappe, who passed his medical exams and signed a five-year contract earlier in the day, shared that he had already spoken with coach Carlo Ancelotti.
“I spoke to the coach this morning, but we haven’t talked tactics yet,” he said. “I want to play with all of the players: Vinicius Jr, [Jude] Bellingham, and all of them.”
Acknowledging the need to integrate with the team, Mbappe noted, “I join a great group of players, and I need to adapt well to the team. I’m not worried about where I’m going to play because I’ve played in all attacking positions both in France and at PSG [Paris Saint-Germain] and Monaco. I just want to be on the field.”
Despite receiving offers from other clubs, Mbappe confirmed his sole focus was on joining Real Madrid, influenced by his admiration for French legend Zinedine Zidane and former Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I have memories of Real Madrid players: Zidane is the first because in France he is a very important person. Then I watched all of Cristiano’s games and now I don’t have to watch, I have to play,” he remarked.
Mbappe’s European Championship campaign was disrupted by a broken nose early in the tournament, but he is optimistic about making his competitive debut for Real Madrid in the European Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14th in Warsaw.
“Tomorrow we will see with the club’s medical team what we do with the nose, but I hope to be in the Super Cup final if the coach wants,” he stated.
