Kurt Angle has been away from WWE for the last five years. The “Wrestling Machine” was last seen in the wrestling ring in 2019 when he faced Baron Corbin. That was billed as Kurt Angle’s farewell match, which he lost and has not been seen in the company since then. However, there have been rumors for the last few weeks that Angle might return as WWE manager for Chad Gable. His current WWE character is being compared to Angle, as both have similar Olympic backgrounds.
According to reports, Angle was also approached by WWE to return as the manager of former WWE superstar Matt Riddle. However, he turned down that opportunity. The “American Hero” has now opened up about returning as Chad Gable’s manager.
Angle reveals he was approached by WWE
Recently, during an interview with K&S Wrestfest, Angle said, “If the money was right, I think Chad and his gang that he has right now, that would be a great idea. When Matt Riddle started, WWE approached me and they wanted me to manage him, but the offer was just… It wasn’t worth it. Unfortunately, you know, I love the business, but you also have to be a businessman and have to make the right decisions for your family.”
Kurt Angle had an amazing wrestling career
Angle also stated that even if he returns to WWE as a manager, he can go for some light matches or some light physical involvement, but it will be almost impossible for him to get into the ring. Kurt Angle has been an incredible WWE superstar during his time and has also become a four-time champion. He is considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Kurt Angle was the only Olympic gold medalist in WWE, winning this prestigious honor in 1996.
