In 2022, they commemorated their seventh wedding anniversary with heartfelt Instagram messages to one another. Freddie declared in the caption of an Instagram video montage, “My ideal person. I am grateful to you every day. I’ll adore you forever. Chelsea wrote, “I couldn’t imagine life without you,” and “You have my undying love,” expressing a similar sentiment.
They are the joyful parents of three sons: Charlie, born in 2016, Brandon John and Maximus Turner, born through surrogacy and Chelsea’s pregnancy, respectively, less than two months apart in 2020 and 2021. Although Freddie isn’t a huge fan of social media, he was proud of his wife for sharing their anxieties and concerns with a large audience through her usage of social media. The pair had fertility troubles after Chelsea gave birth to Charlie in 2016.

“When she told [her] story, it was just like — we’re normal people, you know,” Freddie said to ESPN in February 2021. Adding further, “I know you folks watch me play baseball on TV a lot, but we feel the same things. We gave it our all.”
Chelsea said, “I’ve always wanted to have three kids by the time I’m 30. I never imagined it would be feasible when my 29th birthday rolled around and I still wasn’t pregnant… No matter how they enter a family, whether through fostering, adoption, or surrogacy, children are invariably a blessing.”
Being away from his five-person family is one of the hardest aspects of Freddie’s work, he admitted to MLB.com. This was particularly difficult for him at spring training in 2021, when Charlie joined him for the preseason, although he was having a hard time being apart from Chelsea and their infants at the time.

The day Chelsea Marie Goff was born was April 24, 1991. She grew up in Florida and went to the University of Central Florida there. While Chelsea was a college student (Freddie was drafted right out of high school and signed with the Atlanta Braves in 2007), Freddie and Chelsea started dating in June 2011. Following Chelsea’s graduation in 2013, the couple announced their engagement in January 2014.
Freddie and Chelsea exchanged vows at the St. Regis Bal Harbour in Miami Beach, Florida, on November 22, 2014. Chelsea made an appearance on a Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta season 8 episode before their wedding. Fans got to view the two gowns she chose: a beaded V-neck gown with a structured net skirt covered in ostrich feathers for the reception and a mermaid gown with an extended train and unique sweetheart neckline for the ceremony.
