Following the terror attack in a city of Daegestan, it came in everyone’s attention that one of the attacker who gunned down multiple individuals belonged to Eagles MMA training academy which is operated under supervision of UFC legend Khabib Nurmagmdevdev.
A coordinated terror attack in Dagestan has left a trail of devastation, targeting both a historic synagogue and law enforcement officers in the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala during the Orthodox festival of Pentecost. At least 15 police officers were killed, a Russian Orthodox priest was executed, and a synagogue was set ablaze by the assailants.
The attack has sent shockwaves through the region, especially given its timing and the specific targets chosen. Derbent, known for its ancient Jewish community, and Makhachkala were both scenes of horror as militants launched their assaults. The assailants have not been officially identified, but reports indicate a connection to prominent local figures.
High-Profile Suspects Linked to the Attack
Russian media has widely reported that two of the attackers were sons of Magomed Omarov, the head of the Sergokalinsky district near Makhachkala. Additionally, Visegrád 24 identified another suspect as Ghadzimurad Kagirov, a mixed martial artist associated with the renowned Eagles MMA fight club, founded by retired UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Kagirov, who had a professional MMA record of 2-0, was reportedly one of the five militants killed by Russian forces during the attack. His involvement has cast a spotlight on the intersection of sports and regional conflicts, particularly given his ties to a prominent figure like Khabib.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Response

Despite the reports linking Kagirov to the attack, Khabib has not directly addressed his involvement, focusing instead on a message of peace and reflection for the Dagestani community.
