Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is now retired from the UFC, was once the most dominating and dangerous fighter in the promotion. Boasting an undefeated record in professional MMA, the Dagestani fighter was totally invincible. However, it seems that his aura has diminished a bit and Khabib has himself revealed this.
Khabib sarcastically called himself old
The Eagle posted a photo on social media recently in which he was seen with a dark spot under his eyes. Poking fun at himself, The eagle captioned the picture, saying, “Does it mean that I’m getting older.” While he didn’t reveal the reason for his black eyes, it was certainly a light-hearted moment for Khabib and his fans. Interestingly, Khabib has recently picked up a feud with his former rival Tony Ferguson after he stated that “El Cucuy” would not have been able to defeat him if the two fought in their prime.
The Eagle has gotten himself into a feud with former rival
Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson were scheduled to fight on five different occasions. However, the clash between them never came to fruition and now the fans are left wondering who would have won the fight between the two. During his appearance on the ‘Inspire Me’ podcast, Khabib said that Ferguson had no chance of winning against him and he lacks wrestling skills.
“The Eagle” further said that the only way Ferguson could have won was with a ‘lucky punch.’ This statement clearly offended “El Cucuy,” who instantly took shots at Khabib and called him a “f***ing p***y. Khabib quickly responded to Ferguson’s verbal attacks and told him to enjoy his life. He also said that the internet always twists statements, so Tony should not pay attention to what he is hearing. “The Eagle” further stated that Ferguson should retire and let the young athletes enjoy the sport. Ferguson didn’t stop with his digs, and a few days later he continued his verbal attacks at Khabib, this time regarding his failed cut.

The talks regarding Ferguson’s retirement haven’t just started yet. At 40, he is currently one of the oldest fighters in the UFC. UFC CEO Dana White has himself said that Tony should retire now. But “El Cucuy” has not confirmed his retirement yet. He has not won a single match in the last five years and after his most recent loss in August, he said, ““I am not going to put both gloves down. I’m going to put one and I’m going to keep the other one just in case.”
