In today’s world, professional wrestling is done with full precautions. However, still sometimes wrestlers suffer injuries and some of them are very severe, putting their bodies at risk every time they step into the ring. Many times, those injuries can be seen in real time, as all WWE shows are telecasted on TV. This week’s episode of Raw saw Kairi Sane suffering an eye injury during a Number One Contender’s match, which made fans concerned.
Sane and Sky lost the contender match
At Bash in Berlin, new Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned and determined their first challengers on Raw. Although the match was not stopped due to injury, Sane and her partner Iyo Sky were unsuccessful and lost the chance to become the challengers of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Sane and Sky lost to former champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.
The moment in the match that left Sane with blood around her eye came when the Japanese star leapt from the top rope to ringside and hit her head on the announce table while landing. Sane showed strength despite the injury and even used it to intimidate the champions despite losing the match. Acting crazy, Kairi got in Belair and Cargill’s faces and pointed to her eye, which was heavily bloodlied at the time, while smiling.
Kairi updated fans about the injury
After the injury, Sane took to social media to tell her fans that she was fine and that the injury wasn’t as bad as it looked on TV. There is no serious damage to Kairi’s eye. However, she had to get stitches just above her eye where she suffered the injury. There is no information on whether she will need to rest at some point, but it seems like the injury was superficial and didn’t cause any permanent damage that would keep her out of the field.
