Juventus vs Frosinone: Preview
Juventus form analysis
Vecchia Signora’ recent Serie A form has lacked consistency amid growing scrutiny on manager Massimiliano Allegri. After thrashing Lecce 3-0 thanks to a Dusan Vlahovic brace and Gleison Bremer’s strike, Juve were held to a 1-1 home draw by Empoli as Tommaso Baldanzi cancelled out Vlahovic’s opener. An own goal from Federico Gatti then gave Inter Milan a smash and grab 1-0 home win over bitter rivals Juventus.
Back-to-back draws followed – first at home to mid-table Udinese after Leonhard Gianetti’s goal before relinquishing a lead away to struggling Verona. Despite Vlahovic equalizing from the spot, Verona went 2-1 ahead early in the second half before Adrien Rabiot salvaged a point. So Juventus’ form has matched their inconsistent performances – spells of promise undone by sloppy defensive errors. With pressure growing on Allegri after a mixed first half of the season, Juventus desperately need to find consistency and fluency in their play.
Frosinone form analysis
Frosinone’s recent run of five Serie A matches has shown some encouraging signs but a lack of defensive quality remains an issue. After Kaio Jorge’s late winner saw Frosinone beat Cagliari 3-1, they held mid-table Verona to a creditable 1-1 away draw courtesy of Kaio Jorge’s leveler. At home against AC Milan, Frosinone twice led through Manuel Locatelli and Mato Soulé’s penalty before eventually falling to a 2-3 loss.
Frosinone then suffered their heaviest defeat of the season, thrashed 5-1 at Fiorentina as only Locatelli’s consolation spared complete humiliation. Most recently, Frosinone were comfortably beaten at home by high-flying Roma 3-0. Frosinone have shown they carry a threat on the counter attack through the likes of Soulé and Locatelli. They have badly struggled defensively. Avoiding dropping to relegation will be a tough task if they cannot tighten up at the back.
