Juventus vs Frosinone: Preview
Juventus form analysis
Juve began this run of games with a narrow 1-0 home win over Napoli thanks to a second-half goal by Gatti. They followed this up with a difficult 1-1 draw away to Genoa, taking the lead through an early Chiesa penalty before conceding late on. However, Juventus then lost their next match 1-2 at home to Frosinone, with Yildiz and Baez scoring for the visitors either side of a Chiesa equalizer. They bounced back with a 1-0 win over Roma on New Year’s Eve through Rabiot’s goal.
Yet Juventus’ inconsistent form continued as they then lost 1-2 at home to Salernitana. Maggiore gave the visitors the lead which Iling-Junior equalized, but Vlahovic scored the winner late on. While Juventus have shown flashes of quality with victories over Napoli and Roma, they have struggled for consistency. With costly dropped points against Genoa and losses to Frosinone and Salernitana, Juventus will need to be more clinical and solid defensively if they wish to mount a serious title challenge this season.
Frosinone form analysis
Frosinone have struggled for positive results over their last five Serie A matches. On 10th December, they were held to a disappointing goalless home draw by Torino. Their form worsened on 16th December as they suffered a narrow 1-2 away loss to Lecce, overturning Piccoli’s early opener through Kaio Jorge’s penalty but conceding late to Ramadani. Things improved slightly on 23rd December as despite a 1-2 home loss to Juventus, they showed spirit to equalize through Báez after going behind early to Yıldız before eventually succumbing to Vlahović.
However, struggling results continued on 30th December with a 1-3 home defeat to Lazio, going ahead early through Soulé’s penalty but collapsing after conceding three unanswered goals. Most recently on 6th January, defensive issues persisted in a 2-3 home loss to Monza, going three behind before half time and despite getting back into it through goals from Harroui and Soulé’s penalty, they couldn’t complete the comeback. Overall, Frosinone have lacked attacking threat and defensive stability over this spell, failing to keep a clean sheet during this run. Addressing these problems is crucial if they are to avoid relegation this term.
