WWE Superstar John Cena recently took to Instagram to pay tribute to the 14-time champion ahead of his big match at the 2024 Royal Rumble on Sunday, January 28. The man is Randy Orton. Cena and Orton have a rich history in WWE. Both superstars began their WWE careers in 2000 and debuted on the main roster in 2002. Soon, they both became popular names in the company.

John Cena and Randy Orton have shared many great rivalries in the Stamford-based promotion and given interesting memories to WWE fans through their epic matches. They have been teammates sometimes as well. However, Cena is now more involved in Hollywood, while Orton is still performing in the company. Cena is well known for posting cryptic images on his Instagram handle. The same happened recently when he uploaded a picture of Randy Orton holding the WWE Championship on Instagram without any caption.
Orton wants to fight Cena for the title
A few days ago, Randy Orton appeared on an edition of WWE’s The Bump, where he talked about winning the WWE World Championship once more. The Viper revealed his dream match before retiring and said that he wants to face John Cena for the title at WrestleMania. “A dream match for me would be to somehow find myself in a situation where I’m fighting John at WrestleMania for the title,” said Orton.
The Viper will be part of a major match at Royal Rumble 2024
The Viper is set to compete against AJ Styles, LA Knight and Roman Reigns in a Fatal Four-Way match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the 2024 Royal Rumble premium live event. He is one of the most iconic wrestlers and has already won 14 world championships, so he will definitely be a favorite at the 2024 Royal Rumble to dethrone “The Tribal Chief.” It remains to be seen what the company has planned for Orton’s future.
