Jasmine Paolini has extended her remarkable run of form with a commanding victory over Emma Navarro, securing a spot in the semi-finals of Wimbledon. This marks her second consecutive Grand Slam semi-final appearance, following her impressive performance at the French Open, where she reached the final.
The 28-year-old Italian, who has seen a meteoric rise in the WTA rankings and is now seeded seventh at the All England Club, dominated the match against Navarro. On Centre Court, Paolini showcased her skill and determination, winning in straight sets and making history as the first Italian woman to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Paolini’s journey to this point has been a dream come true. “It’s a dream to be here in this position to be in the semi-final. I watched finals when I was a kid, on this court. I have to say, today I played a really good match. She’s a really tough opponent. I lost to her three times in the last year, so it was tough.”
Next, Paolini faces 28-year-old Donna Vekic, who advanced by defeating qualifier Lulu Sun. Paolini acknowledged the challenge ahead. “Yeah, of course,” she said. “In the semi-final, you have to play tough opponents, and she’s playing amazing. I hope to enjoy the next match, to give 100%, and I’m going to fight on every ball, and I’m just so grateful to be here another time, in front of you guys.”
Paolini aims to surpass her runner-up finish at Roland-Garros, where she fell just short against Iga Swiatek. With her current form and determination, she is poised to make an even deeper run at Wimbledon.
