The renowned YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul surprised everyone when he challenged Alex Pereira. Although “The Problem Child” has fought with UFC fighters before, none of them were active. “Poatan,” on the other hand, is currently on the rise as the UFC light heavyweight champion and has defeated fighters like Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka in his title run till now.
Poatan is at the peak of his career
Pereira is always ready for action and this was witnessed when he stepped in to headline UFC 303 on short notice and delivered a stunning performance. The Brazilian has stated that he will be ready to fight again in November and December. So it takes a lot of guts to challenge such a brutal opponent, and it seems Jake Paul has all of that inside him in abundance. However, “The Problem Child” already has a match lined up against Mike Tyson, which is making people wonder why he would challenge the UFC’s top star.
Why does Jake want to fight Pereira?
Jake just wants more action. We recently witnessed him brutally dominating BKFC star Mike Perry in his recent boxing clash. Now, the YouTuber wants to take on more strong opponents. After the match, Perry praised Jake and his skills and he also appreciated Nate Diaz for standing 10 rounds with Paul in their match last year.
In the post-fight press conference, Jake explained why he wants to fight Pereira next. The 27-year-old stated that he wants all the MMA guys and because Alex is the king of UFC right now, he wants to fight him and dethrone him.
“It’s a huge risk if I can embarrass Dana’s No. 1-praised fidget right now. But I want all the smoke. I want all the MMA guys. I’ve beaten all of them. And who’s next? He’s the king right now of the UFC. I want him,” said Jake.
Interestingly, Alex Pereira has also shown a desire to fight Jake Paul. But the thing is that UFC CEO Dana White has never been a fan of Jake Paul’s cross-promotion matches. So Jake Paul vs. Alex Pereira is unlikely to happen soon.

Jake Paul was initially scheduled to face Boxing icon Mike Tyson on July 20. But the fight had to be postponed due to the 58-year-old Tyson’s health issues. But now Tyson has recovered and right after Paul’s win against Mike Perry, he posted an update on X. “Iron Mike” shared a video and in the caption, he wrote, “The clock starts now.” The highly anticipated match is set to be held in November. Fans are quite excited to see the contest between these two.
