Jadon Sancho On Coach Erik Ten Comments Of Poor Performance
The 23-year-old Sancho did not make the trip to north London for the game at Emirates Stadium, where United were defeated 3-1 by Arsenal thanks to two stoppage-time goals by the visitors. After the game, Ten Hag said that Sancho, who started the season off as a substitute for United in its first three games, was kept out due to “his performances in training.”
In response to coach Erik ten Hag’s assertion that he was benched due to subpar workout efforts, Jadon Sancho, a star for Manchester United, said on Sunday that he had been “a scapegoat for a long time”. The 23-year-old skipped the Sunday Premier League game in London as United fell to Arsenal 3-1. “Jadon, based on his performances in training, we did not select him,” remarked United manager Ten Hag following the game.
“At Manchester United, you have to perform at a certain level every day, and we can choose who plays in the front line. He was thus not chosen for this game.”
However, Sancho retaliated later on Sunday.
On social media, Sancho said, “Please don’t take everything you read at face value! I won’t accept people stating entirely false things; I’ve behaved myself in training this week. I feel there are further factors at play, but I won’t discuss them because I’ve unfairly served as the scapegoat for so long. I play alongside wonderful players and am glad to be able to do so, even if I am aware that it is a struggle each and every week. I appreciate all decisions made by the coaching staff. I won’t give up until I get this badge, no matter what.”
Sancho, an England international, came from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford for £73 million in 2021, but he hasn’t been able to make much of an impression, scoring just 12 goals in 82 appearances in all competitions.
