Olympics 2024 has been quite entertaining so far and UFC fighter Israel Adesanya is also enjoying it to the fullest. Most recently, the Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec got quite popular worldwide for his unique aura. Competing in the mixed team 10m air pistol event, Yusuf surprised the world by stepping out without any special gear. While most shooters wore high-end lenses, defenders and visors, Dikec turned up to the final with only a pair of earbuds.
Adesanya laughs off the meme
The amazing thing was that Dikec eventually won the silver medal at the Paris Olympics with his accurate shots. After his win, Dikec became an internet sensation overnight and the social media was flooded with memes. A user, LiamHealy16, posted a meme comparing Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. In the meme, Pereira’s swag was compared to that of Dikec, while “The Last Stylebender” was compared to a Korean rifle shooter, Daehan Choe, who was dressed in full gear. Although the post was intended to mock Adesanya, the former Middleweight champion found it funny and reacted to the meme with, “😂😂😂 you know what…”
While this was a lighthearted and fun incident for Israel Adesanya, “The Last Stylebender” is currently preparing for his next challenge. Adesanya will try to regain his middleweight title as he receives his 11th consecutive world title opportunity at UFC 305. Adesanya was the favorite to win at UFC 293 and retain his middleweight title, but the events took a turn as he lost to Sean Strickland and lost his championship.
Israel Adesanya will face Dricus Du Plessis for the title
Sean Strickland’s title reign as the middleweight champion was also short-lived, as he lost to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. Soon after the victory, “Stillknocks” stated that he is the first real African champion, which stirred up a lot of controversy. The comments irked Adesanya and he accused Dricus of having a colonial mindset.

The middleweight champion didn’t hold back and took shots at Adesanya with a retirement jib, following Israel’s indications of going towards golf. Now Adesanya is set to face Du Plessis at UFC 305 on August 18, Sunday. As the days draw closer to the contest, the tension between the two is rising rapidly. The contest between the two is going to be thrilling. It will be interesting to see if “The Last Stylebender” can regain his title.
