Several Scottish WWE Superstars had the opportunity to win the gold in front of their hometown crowd at the “Clash at the Castle” on June 15. But there was only one match in which it looked like it was going to happen. The odds were stacked against them due to the triple-threat nature of the match, but it seemed like there was no real threat to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair’s tag title reign. However, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre surprised the fans.
Cargill and Blair lost their tag titles
The match started with chaos due to the ring rules having one member from each team. Naturally, there was a lot of support for the hometown team. It was Dawn who ultimately got the win and ended Belair and Cargill’s relatively short reign with the title. Just moments before the match ended, PLE’s pressure seemed to get Cargill. Jade slipped as she jumped over the ropes and entered the ring, then appeared to tap out against Shayna Baszler, something so obvious that the announcers acknowledged it. Luckily for Cargill, the referee didn’t see it happen. However, moments later, Cargill lost the title, but neither she nor Bianca were involved in the decision.
The Scottish stars won the title in front of their home crowd
That’s the risk of a triple-threat title match. The champion can lose his/her title without even getting pinned, and that’s exactly what happened at the Clash at the Castle. Once Cargill had everything sorted out, Dawn hit her with a suplex and pinned Baszler herself. The Scottish stars then grabbed the tag titles and celebrated outside the ring. The pair was also given flowers to congratulate them on their win.

Fyre looked particularly emotional at ringside when she was handed her title. Both Fyre and Dawn experienced the biggest moment of their careers during the first-ever WWE PLE in Scotland. This week, it was revealed that Fyre’s mother passed away last month after being hit by a car while she was in Florida to meet WWE superstars. So the moment of winning the title was definitely emotional for Fyre, as she must be missing her mother at this precious moment.
