The rumors surrounding Conor McGregor’s comeback have flooded the internet in the past few hours. Due to a complicated situation with USADA, his comeback has been on hold for some time, but now it seems that his fans don’t have to wait for a longer time. The 35-year-old has been out of the testing pool since 2021, and he recently missed the deadline to submit a sample, which could make his comeback this year almost impossible.
McGregor has hinted the return many times
However, McGregor has repeatedly hinted at his return by the end of the year since the deleted tweets. McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar, recently mentioned 2024 as a possible deadline for the Irish fighter’s return, but Conor has hinted once again that he might return in December for a fight against Michael Chandler.
The sources confirm the news
According to the Dutch news outlet Main Event NL, sources have confirmed that McGregor will be making a return at the end of this year, in December. Although a specific date and opponent for him are yet to be finalized, Many of the reliable sources on Twitter have also confirmed the same news about his comeback.
Conor can be in lineup for the BMF title
Justin Gaethje won the BMF title after defeating Dustin Poirier on Saturday at UFC 291 and the news of McGregor’s comeback broke out right after this fight, so it could be true that Conor McGregor will be lined up for the next BMF title, considering the fact that he is unlikely to bid for another championship anytime soon. McGregor’s last fight was on July 10, 2021, against Dustin Poirier, where his left fibula was broken and McGregor lost the fight by knockout in the very first round because the ringside doctor stopped the fight. Since that nightmare, McGregor has rehabilitated and is relatively rested.
