Irfan Pathan, who ranks as India’s second-highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup history, openly praised this outstanding triumph. He then took it a step further by jokingly taunting Pakistan in a message he shared.

With four wickets taken in just his second over, this performance ranked as the fourth-best ODI bowling statistic ever by an Indian bowler. In response, Sri Lanka labored and managed just 50 runs before being dismissed—their lowest total ever against India.
Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, the opening duo, wasted little time in quickly achieving the goal, scoring 51 runs in only 6.1 overs without losing a wicket. This outstanding performance ensured India’s win and the 2023 Asia Cup championship.
