Ireland’s Innings: Adair and Stirling Lead the Charge
Ireland set an imposing target of 195/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to an aggressive 100 off 58 balls from Ross Adair. Skipper Paul Stirling provided strong support with 52 off 31 deliveries, which included seven boundaries and one six.
5 overs to go. Ross is approaching his century… 🤞

Despite a few quick dismissals towards the end, Ireland managed to keep the scoreboard ticking, with George Dockrell contributing a crucial 20* off 13 balls. South African bowlers struggled, with Wiaan Mulder (2/51) and Lungi Ngidi (1/23) being the pick of the attack.
South Africa’s Chase: Close but Not Enough
In response, South Africa’s top order made a solid start. Reeza Hendricks (51 off 32) and Matthew Breetzke (51 off 41) played crucial knocks, adding 71 runs for the second wicket. Ryan Rickelton also impressed with a quickfire 36 off 22, but the middle order faltered.
Mark Adair’s exceptional bowling, taking 4 wickets for 31 runs, turned the tide. South Africa needed 28 runs off the last three overs, but Graham Hume (3/25) and Adair held their nerve to restrict them to 185/9, sealing the win for Ireland.
Despite coming close, South Africa’s chase unraveled in the final overs, with Breetzke’s dismissal in the 18th over proving to be the turning point.
With no third game to decide the series, both teams will take away valuable lessons from the contest. For Ireland, it’s a victory to remember.
